One For Another

I take several pills a day. Some are vitamins, some are prescriptions. What aggravates me is that I have to take one only because I take another. Why does one medicine require treatment from another? I take a statin for cholesterol but it irritates the crap out of my stomach so I have to take a SSDI acid-reducing med, like Pepcid or Zantac to keep it from causing horrible acid reflux. I have been doing this for awhile but thought maybe I don't need it every night? So I skipped one night...and woke up early in the morning choking on acid and blood. God I hate that feeling. I don't mean to gross you out. I just don't get it.
