My Frustrations

We all have those little things that drive us crazy. Things we have no control over and cannot change, but that absolutely irritates the hell out of us.

The ones that annoy me, sometimes daily, are:

  • I'm too short. Too short to reach the top shelf. Hell sometimes the middle shelf. Sometimes I wish my parents had given me a little hgh (human growth hormone) as a child. Is it too late?
  • Dumb drivers. Seriously - just get out of my way. Yes, I confess. I suffer from road rage almost daily. Not the kind that would drive into someone who pissed me off, but I am seriously annoyed by people who ride my ass or drive like a grandma in the passing lane. There are rules and etiquette for the road. Read the manual.
  • People who email me just to tell me to call them. I am serious. There is one person in particular at work that does this. A person who earns more money than I ever will. A person who is in the top level of management. It just goes to show you that people aren't always paid for their intelligence level.

Okay, that's all for now.

Should Be Shot

This makes me sick.

That ship has sailed.

Officials seize baby that mom tried to sell online

The woman said in her ad that her son needs help before she does something crazy.

Too late.

Should We Be Scared?

I am the first to admit that I am not totally informed on the presidential candidates for 2008. My interest is growing in the process and I am defining a few favorites. I am taking an effort to know what they stand for and more about their party "line".

That being said. I had a very scary conversation with a co-worker yesterday. One that makes me worry about several things:

  • the basis of decisions being made not just in this election but life issues in general
  • the intelligence level of of Americans decreasing (yes I need to watch Idiocracy - I've already been told)
  • this person in general (but then I already was a little)

Let me set the stage:

Another co-worker and I were discussing the results of the Iowa Caucuses. The discussion centered on Obama and our likes/dislikes - worries/concerns - etc.

This particular co-worker had approached and was listening.

After several moments she said "he's a Muslim". Matter of factly with no real
emotion, no questioning.

I responded - "No he isn't. Everyone thinks so because of his name. If his
name was John Doe we wouldn't be having this conversation."

"His father is and he spent two years with him in Muslim school. They implant
supercells. They lay dormant for years and then boom - he is a murderer."

"You've been watching too much TV."

"Yeah, that is where I saw it."

"No, I mean too much sci-fi channel."

"It was on Zoolander, didn't you see it?"

Dead silence as I stare at her trying to figure out if she is really
serious.

"You realize that was a comedy?"

"Yeah, so?"

"Fiction?"

"Yeah."

More dead silence.

Are you as worried as I am friends?

Rants

This post is about nothing in particular, has no need for segues, and is about as random as it gets - except that it is me ranting throughout. Fair warning.

  • Teenage trick-or-treaters who don't bother to dress up to earn their free candy piss me off - but also scare me. If I refuse them candy - will our vehicles have a new pinstripe tomorrow morning? Scratched vehicle vs. suppressing anger = suppressing anger.
  • When I am talking to my spouse, nothing - nothing pisses me off more than when he walks away while I am in mid sentence as though, a) he wasn't listening to begin with so didn't know I wasn't done, or b) just doesn't give a shit. I don't know which one makes me angrier.
  • Some dumb ass who didn't bother to look in his side mirror to know I was directly beside him as he tried to change lanes who has the gall to glare at me when I honk at him to prevent him from damaging our vehicles. I should be glaring at him - dip shit.
  • The post office. The list is so long here, but I'll focus on their open hours. They close at 4:30 p.m. - What idiocy. I arrived last night at 4:33 and doors locked. 4:33!!!!! Who is off work by then to make it to the post office. Their demise is coming - UPS will own them someday. I totally support privatizing the postal system. At least without the government involved, it will have some semblance of customer service.
  • Political ads. I will promise my vote to the candidate who can run a campaign on their own merits - without bashing other candidates. It would be like going to a job interview - no wait, it is a job interview, and bashing your competition to your possible new boss. So unprofessional.
  • People who can't count in their head. They have to say 1, 2, 3,.....out loud. Annoying!
  • Old people. They are rude, assuming, and disrespectful of everyone else. Which is so ironic since they claim the same thing about the young.

Okay, I am done bitching. Have a great weekend!

Beer In A Baby Bottle?

I don't know why I am constantly surprised at the stupidity that surrounds us on a daily basis, but alas I am.

In reading my local home town paper online today, I find this "people say so" submission apparently responding to some teenagers being arrested for loitering or whatever kids do at a po' dunk small town festival.

He may be justified as hell for his view, but he is too stupid to realize he just made himself and any farmer look like still-making hillbillies from the 1890's. Not to mention, every farming family look like drunken child abusers.

Don't Let The Door Hit Your Ass...

It is about time. Star Jones is the perfect example of many people I have known who have had weight loss surgery and their personality was removed along with the fat.

What is the deal? I'll stay fat and happy any day.
