We've had a Wii for a couple years now and enjoy playing on our own or in a party setting. I also have Wii Fit and probably don't use it as much as I should but I do us it and it is great to weigh the dogs with. Seriously.
But we haven't purchased any additional wii accessories like tennis rackets, guns, etc. The remotes seem to work fine for us. But am I missing out on something? Peeps?

You are not missing out on anything. I have used a friends with the extras and now ours without and it works fine. I think I may prefer it without the extra fussing of taking it in and out of the extra equipment.
