Horse Tales

My mother told me that my cousin was recently on one of the morning news shows. I really wasn't surprised, and if you knew him you would know why.

You see he works at Fort Knox. He is a 24 year National Guardsman. He was born and raised, like me, in Seymour, Indiana. However, about eight years ago he moved to Kentucky for a woman. The woman is long gone, but Darrin stays in Kentucky - Brandenberg to be more exact.
Darrin, like his entire family, love horses. We always joked that he was born in the saddle. What is a past time for some is a life for him. He is a beer drinkin', guitar playing, always full of a joke (or shit), good natured kind of guy.

He is five months my senior so we grew up together, graduated in the same class, and married about the same time, divorced about the same time, and remarried about the same time. Unfortunately he is again single (great catch if anyone is interested).
Well he has begun riding his horse to work due to the cost of gas. Horse and buggy. The Early Show came (very early) and interviewed him and followed him to work. The officials at Fort Knox would not let the cameras through the gate because, well of the gold you know :-))

Apparently he has been contacted by The Pentagon because they think he is protesting against Pres. Bush because of the gas prices. Yeah, like there isn't any other reason to protest Pres. Bush.
Paranoid are we?

OMG! Funny! And to think, he is just trying to save gas. I think the bank would have an issue with me leaving a horse parked out bak.

The horse doesn't mind hanging out while he works? Very cool idea!

He should tell the Pentagon people that he decided to become Amish or something and to mind their own business. Don't they have more important issues to deal with...like their war?

Ok, off topic --- no, mel, I didn't quit. It was only a temp contract for the year because the other teacher took a medical leave. Unfortunately for me, she came back, even though she can't tell you her full name and address. There's nothing wrong with her teaching kids in that frame of mind, is there? (I'm not bitter, really. )
