They "core" members, being my mother & step-father and aunt & uncle, camped at the location of the reunion. So a bunch of us went there last night and ate supper, drank wine/beer, and sat around the campfire singing songs. It was really fun. When my cousins didn't remember the words, they made their own - totally hilarious.
My husband had been relieved of all familial obligations this weekend so I was on my own. Not a problem. This way there is no worries about when he will want to leave and I can stay as long as I want - being 10:30 pm. Way past my bedtime.
Today the "official' reunion took place with family you only see yearly at best and it went off very nicely. Lots of food, fun, and stories. This is the first year my grandmother has not been there (nursing home) and we spent quite a bit of time just sharing our stories and memories.
Like many family reunions, there are people you don't know from Adam (wonder where that expression came from?). The guy on the left is one of them - don't have a clue. However the gal on the right is my cousin Margo. One of the funniest people I know.
These two gentlemen are my cousins, Russ and Darrin. They are cousins to each other as well but could pass for brothers. I wish I would have gotten that "long legged slim" family gene. Russ's brother Carl is even taller - 6'7". Here I am at my measly 5'3"...sigh.
