Junk in the Trunk

Our dog Shelby is nine years old now and her age is showing. Over the past 6 months, she has went from normal to a very arthritic dog. The vet has given us some natural arthritis relief supplements to help and they have helped some, but her hardest effort seems to be going from sit to stand. The junk in her trunk just can't get up.

Stairs are hard on her as well. Have I mentioned that our house is nothing but stairs? Literally. There are four half flights in the house and two flights if you go out the patio and down the deck steps to the yard. Sooo...Shelby now goes out front to do her business. There is only 3 steps down to the yard and she likes being special.

For awhile we were carrying her up to bed, but the supplements and daily walks are helping her build some stamina and she's doing better with them at night.

Somehow I think we see our own future in her. Who will take us out front though?
