Michael, Row the Boat Ashore

Today, Louisville received 6" of rain in one hour. As you can imagine, that caused a few headaches.

  • University of Louisville had employees stranded in buildings that had to be rescued via boat.
  • Churchill Downs had to relocate all their horses.
  • Metro Animal Services was severely affected and several animals drowned.
  • The main downtown library was hard hit with over a $1 million dollars damage.
  • Just to name a few.

The bad news? There are 2-3 more inches of rain coming tonight.

Fortunately, we live far enough away from the concrete jungle to not have any problems. There is enough earth around us to absorb that much water vs. living downtown where there is much, much less.

Just another reason I'll take suburbia over urban/downtown life any day.
