My book club has read The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch this month. We meet tonight to discuss it. I actually read it a couple months ago, but re-read it for this event. I strongly encourage you to read this if you haven't already.
You may have seen him on Diane Sawyer's special awhile back or at the very least heard of him when he passed on a few months ago.
He is very inspiring and his book really helps to motivate you and remind you of what is important - really important.
It seemed appropriate that we read this close to Thanksgiving because if there is ever a time to realize how fortunate and blessed we are, it is now. Even with the economy tanking, many of our loved ones still overseas, and friends and family fighting diseases and each other - we really are fortunate people.
The recent passing of my friend and colleague, Evan, reminded me that each and every day is a gift. What will you do with yours today?
Edit: It was postponed until next week due to the holidays. That was really poor planning on our part anyway.
