Ike blew through here on Sunday leaving a trail of downed trees and no power. We have been without electricity since Sunday a.m. We have an electric hot water heater so that means no hot water either. God bless good friends who too have no electric, but they do have a gas water heater so we went over for dinner and a shower tonight. I brought wine - good trade?
The novelty has wore off and they are saying 10-14 days before everyone is restored. Currently we are one of 182,000 people still without.

10-14 days?! My guess is that they will restore power in the Ryder Cup area first. How bad for tourism if they don't.
I agree, the novelty wears off after the second day. It's all fun and games when it first happens. Then you are sooooo over it. I'm so sorry about the contents of your refrigerator. I know how painful it is to throw everything away.
