Winter Wonderland

The weather folk were calling for a winter storm in Louisville yesterday. I poo poo'd their forecast as they always tease me and leave me disappointed.

Schools were closing early and already declaring today a snow day, businesses were preparing to close early and events cancelled all over the place.

I had a late meeting off site yesterday that a co-worker and I were determined to make. We arrived there just as the first flurries came down - no big deal.

Three and a half hours later we left the building to quite a spectacular site. It was gorgeous, but already more than two inches on the ground with plenty more coming. Plus it was dark which made navigating interesting.

I dropped off my co-worker and an hour later I arrived home. It normally is a 15-20 minute drive. I never went more than 30 mph on the interstate but no mishaps.

This morning we awoke to this.

Isn't it gorgeous?

Unfortunately after about 4-5 inches of snow fell, ice came next. The trees are taking the hardest hit.

I'm headed off to work. I hopefully have given them plenty of time to do something about the roads.

I miss days like that. No chance of that happening here in Cali!
