I didn't go all out for lunch - Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Home Fries and Grilled Vegetables. It was warm and perfect for a cold winter day.
I did try something a little different for dessert.
They were pretty easy to make and really cute to serve.
Make your favorite cheesecake recipe - mine was vanilla (of course). Once it has cooled and then chilled in the frig for a couple hours, use a cookie dough scoop and make balls of cheesecake to place on a parchment papered cookie sheet.
This would be the time to place your lollipop stick in as well.
Place the sheet(s) in the freezer for at least a couple hours or overnight like I did.
Depending on what you want to dip your balls in (don't go there), melt the chocolate of choice. I used both milk and white chocolate. I also crushed some oreos for garnish. I "tricked" out a few with some gold dusting powder as well.
I think they turned out good and they were yummy.
Great idea for a do-ahead dessert for a self-serve type party (hmmm - note to self).

Adorable and delicious! I actually prefer multiple small bites of food to just one big piece. For some reason I'm more satisfied eating this way. I suspect it's because of the pause that is required before going for that second, and third lollipop. May as well make it four!
I know. When normally you eat a whole slice of cheesecake, I couldn't eat more than two lollipops.
love, love, LOVE this idea!!
you know if we lived closer i would be coming over to your house for cheesecake balls right this minute!
When are you moving?
These are so beautiful!
Once again, I must tell you how much I hate you for posting the pic. I'm craving cheesecake in a big way.
They tasted horrible - bitter, grainy and sour.
{Did that help?}
