New Wheels

Mysterygirl wanted details on the new ride. So here goes.

  • Thought about this purchase a lot, probably too much.
  • Did I want something sporty and cool? Did I want something fuel efficient? Did I want to spend more money or less?
  • Answers: Whatever. Whatever. Less.
My new car: Pontiac G6
We have a GM credit card that through all the purchases of this move provided me with some well earned credits. That and my trade in brought my monthly payment down $100. Me likey.

Will I have it forever? No.

Do I like it as much as my previous three Toyota's? Jury is still out, but leaning towards no.

Does it work perfectly for my shorter drive plus save me bucks that I can throw towards other bills so I can buy something really great in a few years? Yes.

My one requirement was a V6. I went down to a 4 cyl last trade so I would not get any of those "not so good driving awards on the side of the road" that I had gotten with my previous car. That sucked. As did the power.

With that came the remote start option which I had never given any thought to. I like it. Great to cool down the vehicle while you are loading groceries.

GM has a long way to go before it can compete with Toyota, but it has improved since my last GM car about ten years ago.

Finally a post about this. I've been wondering ever since you mentioned it. I have to tell you, Husband loves this car. He rents from Avis every week and as a preferred customer, he always gets this car. He throws a fit if he doesn't get one. Seriously. I think he's getting his fill driving it every week for the past few months.
What an awesome deal! You can't go wrong with a $100 payment. Enjoy!

LOL - Oh I wish my payment was $100!

It is $100 less than what I was paying.

I have to say it is roomier than I first imagined. My 6'2" husband is quite comfortable in it.
