I personally think extended warranties are a scam. They never seem to cover what ever the problem ends up being anyway.
My parents recently bought a used truck and she told me it came with a complete warranty. I didn't really think much about it but then the "check engine" light came on and they took it in and sure enough - worthless.
How about you? What has your experience been with extended warranties? My husband recently purchased it when he bought his new truck because he thinks he will keep the truck forever (sure).
I had a friend who used to work at a service/warranty company and apparently you can buy warranties on anything. As a perk, she was allowed to choose three things in her home to cover. That seems odd, but I guess you could bet a 5th wheel warranty, a lawn mower warranty, or a treadmill warranty if you wanted.
What about a warranty on a dog?
