In marketing class (a gazillion years ago), we had that discussion of "who owns who".
You know - Coca Cola owns Nestea, Nestle owns Buitoni, Sara Lee owns Hanes, and so on.
The husband and I had a similar conversation this weekend about restaurants. Did you know?
Applebees is owned by IHOP?
Chipotles is owned by McDonald?
Stoney River Steakhouse is owned by O'Charleys?
The same people own Chilis, Macaroni Grill and On The Border.
I guess it is profitable to have affiliate program and restaurants.

I know that in this area, the same person that owns Fazoli's owns Wendy's, Chili's, Perkins (formerly), Mimi's Cafe, and something else. Of course he's a franchise owner, but its interesting.
