When we were in California for the wedding in September, we dined at an amazing restaurant that I can't remember the name of for the life of me. The atmosphere was great, the wine was great, but the food...aaah it was awesome.

I had the special that night which was Fig Pizza. They had their own wood burning pizza oven and the crust was wonderful crunchy on the bottom with that fresh from the fire taste. Topped with provolone, goat cheese, fresh sliced figs and a balsamic glaze - it was heaven. Pure heaven. I vowed to repeat this at home.

I did last night.

And it was awesome.
