On the Up Side

I woke up yesterday feeling better than I have felt in a month -yeah! I have had the jackpot of health problems all rolled up in a two month period. Let me recap for you.

Got sick in California the first week of September. Came home with a diagnosis of colitis and pancreatitis. Was reduced to clear liquids for a week and it took about two weeks to get back to a normal diet. I remained sans liquor and fried foods until I had a small outpatient procedure done the first week of October just in case it caused a relapse.

The procedure went fine. I was only off a few days -- but while I was off I caught a cold. Fun. I did the over the counter stuff for two weeks and gave in and went to the doctor. He gave me antibiotics for an ear infection and cough medicine. In this period I also hurt my foot -- by walking. Just walking. It hurt to put any weight on it or flex it at all. I could barely walk. This was great. Here I am hobbling everywhere like...well, like an old person hacking her lungs up. Geesh.

One week later I felt worse, though my ear was no longer hurting. I went back to the doctor. He diagnosed me with bronchitis and the early stages of pneumonia. Sent me home to be quarantined from all the germies out there and prescribed home breathing treatments via a nebulizer that was delivered by a home care company. Now I really feel old. I went back to work 5 days later and did fine for three days until I began vomiting, at work no less. There's a new symptom. I stayed home a couple days and recuperated over the weekend. Note: Foot still hurts.

Monday, I felt better than ever and went to work where I again got sick to my stomach -- but never felt bad. And before you ask, no I am not pregnant -- not possible in so many ways. I remained at work and trudged ahead.

Today...doing good. Had breakfast and don't feel sick. Foot hurts less.

Good thing, I was beginning to think I'd qualify for social security disability. Because I'm old you know.
