Is The Office Your Office?

We love The Office. Partly because we can identify some of our own colleagues in the crazy characters on the show. This past week’s was a perfect example.

Some salesman doing insurance marketing came into the office to try and sell Michael insurance. Jim - one of only two sane and normal employees there – was on his honeymoon; so with Dwight and Andy’s misguided direction and advice, he of course made a mess of it.

How many times can you see this play out in your own workplace? When the only competent person is gone – the others scurry around like frantic cats.

Or maybe it is just me.

I just watched that episode on hulu.com.

Unfortch, in my office, everyone is competent, but the upper echelon micromanage and breath down our necks constantly, leaving morale in the toilet and getting results completely opposite of what they hope for--pissed off/depressed employees don't concentrate very well. When they're gone, everything goes smoothly and everyone breathes easy.

We watched the same episode and laughed very hard. They always come up with some real life office issues that we most can relate too.
