Mulligan

This weekend my family is gathering to celebrate six birthdays. One in July, three in August, and one in September -- and one in February.

You see, Mom spent her birthday in the hospital -- plus the next two months.

So we are giving her a mulligan - a do over - for her birthday. But she doesn't know it.

I am baking her favorite cake - carrot cake with cream cheese icing -- to help us celebrate her continued recovery.
