We're headed back to wine country. Can you hear the giddiness in my voice?
I loved the time I spent last summer touring wineries and visiting northern California - the only thing missing was my hubby.
Well this time I am not only taking my hubby but also my mother-in-law. Why you ask?
My husband's cousin, Larissa is getting married on Labor Day and we are attending the wedding. We knew they were recently engaged but the "Save the Date" card arrived this week.
We were deliberating on whether we could swing an unplanned trip when my father-in-law announced that he could not go due to health reasons, but my mother-in-law was dying to go. She and Larissa have always been close (Larissa's middle name is Carol after her). So....if we would take her with us, he would pay for all our tickets.
Well, hello? Do we look stupid?
It isn't quite as generous as it sounds - remember my mother-in-law has early to middle staged Alzheimer's so we have to be on alert and basically not let her out of our sight for five days. Yes, that means we will be sharing a hotel room. It just isn't safe to leave her in a room by herself.
But it will be a beautiful time to be in Napa Valley and a beautiful time for a wedding. Oh and it is always time for wine.
