Have drink, will travel

Last night was the traveling cocktail party in our neighborhood. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was fun, really.

We started at house #1 for drinks and appetizers. Two tables spread full of wonderful dips, canapes, veggies, meatballs, shrimp, antipasto, and more. Plus wine, bourbon, beer, and soda/water.

After about two hours there of meeting neighbors, chatting, and gossiping, we moved to house #2 where we had scrumptious desserts - chocolate fondue with fruit, marshmallows and pound cake to dip, brownies, lemon bars, berry trifle, lemon meringue, apple pie, etc. And more wine, beer, coffee, etc.

Apparently in years past they did the entire meal, but participation dwindled. This year was a raving success with 14 couples participating. So next year they are going to try the four stop progressive dinner. Who knows, I may volunteer for one course.

We did reconnect with some folks that we've met before and met some new neighbors that we plan on having for dinner soon. They were a blast last night and I see much fun in the future.
