There is a first time for everything.

I am trying to get my mojo back. I figure if I force it and intentionally tackle some culinary challenges, maybe I'll get back in the groove.

So this week I am intentionally making things I've never made before. The first being - Lamb Chops.

I've eaten them out, but never made them at home. And I don't know why because they were very easy and very good.

I used a recipe from Epicurious - Lamb Chops with Poached Quince and Balsamic Pan Sauce, except I used Asian pears because - hello? I live in the middle of no where and quince cannot be found.

The best part of this dish was the sauce - OMG! I could have that over ice cream, well maybe not - but anything else.

Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked lamb chops over Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and poached pears with that wonderful sauce spooned over it like silk - yum! I steamed tiny baby asparagus and tiny baby carrots - seriously they were both the tiniest I have ever seen - to accompany the goodness.

I think lamb chops will become a frequent visitor in our home.
