Food For Thought: Talking With My Mouth Full

I loved this month's book. Every time I sat down to read it, I left motivated to try a new dish or an old one or one my mother used to make.

It is about real food, real family and real friends. The patterns and memories that come with food as well as the generational gifts.

Everything from jello molds to toast to holiday foods and more...so much more. When you are done reading you feel like you know her friends intimately and her family reminds you of your own.

In fact, I stopped after the chapter on aprons and went and bid on some vintage aprons on Ebay. It so motivated me to bring that feeling into the time I spend in the kitchen. That feeling of love, warmth and comfort...mixed with a little elegance.

It also motivated me to quit serving our evening meal on the coffee table in front of the TV. Even though it is just the two of us, we own two dining room tables and by god we should use them.

Go read this...even if you aren't a cook or a foodie - it will remind you of things from your childhood - good things.
