Morven over at Food Art and Random Thoughts teased me last week with an issue of the magazine Taste which is loaded with great recipes and photos.
I have been communicating with her and getting to know her. It is a small world between Kentucky and New Zealand since she spent about three years here in the recent past and has visited such landmarks as The Brown Hotel - which ironically is where we spent our wedding night, The Louisville Palace, and the Kentucky Derby.
So I was so excited when the box of goodies arrived.
What did I get you ask?

All individually wrapped inside the box with an envelope that forbade it to be opened until after each piece had been unwrapped so as to not spoil the surprise.
Included was:
kiwifruit utensil
olive oil lip balm
Tim Tams - I've never had these, but heard great things. Okay I
just lied - I have been eating them while I was typing this so now
I have had them and yum!Milo - malted chocolate drink mix
Eskimoes - these remind me of circus peanuts - I'll let you know
if they taste like that laterMalt biscuits - there is a recipe for Lolly Cake on the back of the
eskimoes that require malt biscuits tooOlive Salt - I was just telling Stephanie the other day how much
I have grown to be a fan of different saltsKiwi & Habanero hot sauce - for my hubby (but I'm sure I'll
try some too)New Zealand candy - it is actually made by Cadbury which
we have here but I've not seen this typeNew Zealand Chardonnay - a girl after my own heart
(sneaking alcohol past customs) - you go girl. And for some
reason she thinks I shouldn't drink - who me? whatever could
you be talking about :-)
I am so pleased with my goodies. It is so obvious that she took time to read my blog and learn about me, my likes and even my hubby's likes. Best of all - I've gained a new blogger friend.
My package shipped last week.
Hint: It went to Sweden.
Thanks!

Hey there new friend - I'm glad your package arrived and I hope the Tim Tams last more than a few days. Aren't they GOOD!
... and it arrived in Sweden! Thank you SO much, it totally made my day, and everything was so lovely! I can't believe I finally got raspberry chipotle sauce! I've only had it once - my friend in California had a bottle, and she served it with cream cheese and crackers. I've been dreaming about it ever since - is there anything else I should try with it now that I've got it? :)
Never, ever had spiced Velveeta! How perfect! :) I hate to admit loving it, but I do. Very much. And Peeps! haven't had those for many years, since I was an exchange student in the US, but oh, I adore them! Now I just have to let some of them grow a bit stale, that's perfect.. :)
I'll post about it soon, but I wanted to let you know right away that it arrived. Thank you!!! :)
Morven: They are good. And I just ate a CRUNCH bar - different from anything here - but oh so good.
Anne: I'm so glad your box arrived safely. We use the Raspberry Chipotle sauce for many things - add a couple tablespoons to chili, sauce for smoked sirloin, sauce for grilled chicken, etc.
I have never had it on cream cheese and crackers - will have to try that one. We usually use pepper jelly for that - which is similar.
Enjoy!
Cool score! You don't have Crunch bars in the US? Wow are you missing out - they are one of my favs!
These weren't Nestle Crunch bars, they were Cadbury CRUNCH bars -I don't know how to describe them. Kind of like a malted milk ball.
No I mean Cadbury Crunchie bars!
They have sponge toffee inside - we get them here.
We can also buy just sponge toffee with now chocolate coating (but not by Cadbury)
If we have these in the US, I've just not seen them. But of course, I will now start looking for them.
