Looks bad doesn't it?
I wish I could tell you some great story about flipping off some asshole and then getting it caught in the power window while trying to speed away....or
Finally having all I could stand from WalMart and began doing drive-bys with the bird flying only to hit an abandoned shopping cart (because there are always abandoned shopping carts) with my wild and crazy finger.
No, my story is much more mundane. I rammed my finger into the sink over a week ago. It ripped my fingernail back - too far back. It tore part way down and bled like a cooked beet.
I have nursed it all week trying to keep it from getting infected. It has been so sore that I cry every time I bump it.
I finally gave in when it began changing colors. Being diabetic, I wasn't taking any chances. So I stop at the urgent care center for a "quick" fix.

2 1/2 hours later I leave with this.
I had four - yes four - numb shots at the base of my poor finger that hurt like a mother f***er. I believe I actually used that word during the procedure. Pretty sure I shocked the 60 year old doctor with my foul mouth, but damn it - it hurt.
Can you see how swollen my hand is from the shots? It was bulging. I was still numb in part of my hand this morning.
And I didn't even get a sucker.

What did they do to you?!?!
I hope they put you on some good meds to make up for no sucker! Ouch!
Ouch! That looks painful! Maybe you would have got a sucker if you didn't scream obscenities! haha Kidding!
Ouch! It does look painful - hope it heals quickly.
mistylea: they numbed it so they could cut on the nail and skin without me cursing them - actually once they numbed me I was fine and I took some vicadin before I went to bed and have been fine since - i guess the numb shot pain was worth it.
gingela5: no doubt, but that wouldn't be me :-))
kim: thanks
ouch!!
this made me wince and suck air in between my teeth.
but at least your nails look good!
why thank you for noticing
OMG! This sounds horrible. I hope it is getting better now. It's when you have an injury like that that you realize just how much you need all your fingers. I don't know how you made it through "the procedure" at all.
