After we ventured into the world of bird feeders, it has been a slippery slope. We have actually purchased three more seeders due to the demand. You know how it goes - supply vs. demand. Our supply was seriously lacking.
When my sister was here for the family birthday party, she asked what type of birds we had. Our response: "there is a little black and white one, then there is one with a mohawk, and some red ones".

This is officially a Tufted Tit Mouse - but we call it Thomas Head.
This drove her nuts. She felt we needed to know the correct names and began identifying them for us. I like our way better. Much like all the neighbors we have ever had, we name them by their chracteristics (or dysfunctions).
"Thomas head" - because of a kid we know whose hair is always sticking up.
"Little fat one" - I think it is a chickadee but they are so roly poly.
"Mean ass bastards" - these are large black birds. Probably grackles, but never the less - mean ass bastards. I am contemplating a BB gun for these guys.
