Culinary Coup

Some days I like to veg out and eat leftovers or order in, spending most of my day reading, watching movies, and/or napping.

Some days I get all motivated to cook and try new recipes. Today was one of those days.

Unfortunately I have no pictures or proof of my energetic romp in the kitchen today as we ate before I thought about snapping - at both meals. Maybe just the fact that it looked and smelled so good that we couldn't wait to eat is a testament to its goodness. Maybe.

Breakfast was Creme Brulee' French Toast. This is one of those wonderful dishes you prepare the night before and bake in the morning. Love those!

Dinner actually began around noon because this goodness took awhile to prepare but was oh so worth the effort and time.

I've long had a crush on short ribs when they are done right. This isn't always the case when you order them out. So you know the ol' saying, when you want something done right....

Asian Braised Short Ribs with Cranberry-Teriyaki Glaze

Served with yukon gold mashed potatoes and a cucumber tomato salad and finished off with molten chocolate cakes w/ice cream.

You'll just have to trust me, it was a good day culinary-wise, and other.
