Drum Roll Please

My hubby has finished the basement. Hoorah! He has spent four solid months down there trying to fix the mess that the previous owners shafted us with.

He originally thought it was just gonna be ripping up carpet, painting, hanging cabinets, and laying floor.

Then he found the mold.

That turned into full demo and removal.

Then they began hanging new mold resistant drywall with all new insulation behind it.

Then we had a water leak after the new drywall was hung. There was cussing.

We had professionals here with quotes. Many $$$ later they did all they promised to fix the water source.

One week later, we had a water leak, again. More cussing.

Professionals came back and fixed the problem they didn't complete. It has been six weeks, no leak. Though there is still periodic cussing.

Last two weeks has been floor laying - the final step.

Isn't she purdy?

This is my husband's studio. His "me" place, project room, hideaway, man den - whatever you care to call it. He paints, sculpts, and creates horrific science fiction pieces with such detail that you forget it is some non-earthly creative sucking the brains out of some big busted damsel in distress because you admire the artistry.

I am so happy for him, and very proud of his hard work.
