My first attempt with fresh figs. Very good, very messy - but very good. I quartered them and smeared with them goat cheese and crushed rosemary. Then wrapped them in prosciutto and broiled them. Very rich.
A simple but gorgeous and very tasty fruit salad. Pineapple, fresh peaches, raspberries, strawberries, and red grapes. I could live on this stuff.
Roasted Garlic Risotto with crispy prosciutto. Mmmmmm.
Fresh tomato salad. I used local red tomatoes, yellow heirloom tomatoes, and a tomatillo. Sliced red onions with some lemon vinaigrette topped it off. Love it.
This was a Spicy Turkey Roll. I tried this recipe upon the ravings of another food blogger. I wasn't as impressed as they were. The top is gorgeous and crunchy, but the bottom is soggy and I don't know how keep it from being so. It is stuffed with ground turkey, green chiles, and cheese.Pizza Rolls and Corn Salad. These pizza rolls are so easy and good. I am making them tonight as well. Just take an egg roll wrapper and a piece of string cheese. You can use mozzarella or I used a swirled one of cheddar and mozzarella. Add a tiny (very tiny) spoon of marinara or pizza sauce and three slices of pepperoni. Wrap up tight and deep fry. A whole basket of fried goodness! (that was for you Dana).

Do you have a deep fryer or do you just do it in a skillet?
I just recently purchased a deep fryer - totally worth it. You can control the temperature so much better so there is no smokey mess. The one I got also has a drain with a filter so you can store the clean oil and still wash the fryer between uses.
But in the past I have done it in a deep skillet and it works fine.
