Best in Show

Today I went to my first dog show. I never thought I would enjoy just watching other people's dogs, but I was wrong.

I really did like visiting with and watching these precious animals who just so want to please their owners. I really enjoyed the agility competitions. Smart animals. I learned about other breeds and got to love on ooooodles of cutie pies (don't tell Murphy on me).

If you have never watched Best In Show starring the Spinal Tap folks - it is a riot (as is all their shows). I couldn't help but typecast people today in the roles of that movie. Too funny.

I am sure there are many people who know me think I am a "crazy dog lady", and who knows maybe I am. But we love our puppies as our kids and spoil them rotten for all the love and devotion they show us in return.

However, I no longer feel like the "crazy dog lady" after what I witnessed today.

Thank god for camera phones.

Take it all in...

jacket....

socks...

but wait...there is more...

It is difficult to see in this picture, but she is wearing a tiara...to a dog show?

Oh hell, where would it every be okay to wear a tiara?

Best In Show is my favorite movie! I've never been to a real dog show before, but always imagined it to be just like your pictures!

Hey, that's my mom! (I kid!)

I made some friends pose for a few pictures at a recent crab feed to capture an awesomely bad haircut.

Sadly, as we watched Best in Show, we found ourselves trying to identify who we were most like. let's hope noone, but if I had to choose it would be Mr and mrs "Where's his Busybee???!!!!"
