I realize if you aren't an animal person, you may find this silly. But tough. Those of us who have chosen to share our lives with our beloved pets consider them family. I would have to be medicated if that was me.
So please, if you have pets, take time to get a window decal alerting the fire fighters that there are animals inside. It may not always help, but it could save their lives.

That makes me sick to my stomach. The only consolation is that they probably passed out from the smoke inhalation, and their deaths weren't too horrible.
Ugh. I'm going home to hug my cats now.
