Customer Rant

I am going to rant. Topic: nail polish.

I typically buy Avon, Max Factor, Revlon, etc. I prefer the quick dry (because I am impatient and busy, dammit). The price is usually from $1.99 to $4.00.

Before I proceed, let me share a bit of information about my buying habits. I am not afraid of paying for good quality merchandise. Typically, I believe you pay for what you get. My husband and I both prefer "upgraded" service and product.

Continuing on, when we went to Chicago last week I failed to take any nail polish and my nails needed touched up in a bad way. So as we were shopping on Magnificent Mile I went into Sephora. Defined, a candy store for women. I have shopped Sephora online, but never in person. Wow (drool).

Anyway, after purchasing some Venom Gloss (hard to find locally but well worth it), I finally found some nail polish. There was only one small table of it in the entire store and they were so teeny tiny.

Small size is doable, especially while traveling, but they wanted four bucks for these microscopic amounts!

"Okay", I decided. "Maybe it will be the best nail polish ever and I will have discovered a new favorite product."

So I bit the bullet and laid down the cash.

Since then, I have had to reapply this stuff no less than daily, sometimes touching up chips twice a day. This is ridiculous. It is the worse nail polish I have ever used. And it claims to be chip-resistant.......#$&@!

It chipped yesterday while drying my hair!!! It's not like I am washing dishes (never), pulling weeds in the garden (obviously never if you saw my yard), or sandpapering furniture (yeah right).

I could go to Big Lots and buy 2 for $1.00 nail polish and be better off.

So this consumer's advice would be - skip the Sephora nail polish and stick with Avon. Always good selections, always priced right, and very durable.

But don't skip Venom.....never skip Venom.
