We ate at some amazing restaurants while in Chicago. Some were old favorites like Rosebud on Rush and Giordano's.
Some new favorites we will add to our next visit will be The Back Porch at the House of Blues Hotel and Bin 36, also lodged in the House of Blues Hotel.
We ate twice at both restaurants and not just because they were in our hotel. There are plenty of restaurants around to choose from. We chose to go back because it was that good and there were so many menu items we wished to try.
Bin 36 is a wine bar/restaurant with an eclectic menu and large variety of wines. They do this wine tasting where you select a category, mine was Flashy Whites With A Splash Of *Pink, and you get four glasses to taste the wines.
They give you a "placemat" if you will, that lists the wines you chose and their descriptions so you can make notes to take with you on your next trip to Liquor Barn.
My favorite was 2004 (Garnacha/Syrah) Capcanes Rosat, Monstant, Spain in case you need a good, just slightly sweet wine for your next party, housewarming, or an average Wednesday.
The atmosphere is relaxed - especially at 10:30 pm - which is good considering this is what my husband ordered on our first visit:
Blue Cheese Burger w/the Bubbles taster. Nothing like chomping on fries with a champagne chaser.
For the record, our agreed favorite in the Bubbles entourage was NV Brut, Cava Rose, Cristalino, Penedes, Spain.

You are a multi-faceted woman. I had no idea you like wine.
I confess, there's not much liquor I don't like. I like sweet wines, not much on the dry reds - that doesn't mean I wouldn't drink them :-))
One would think all my pancreas and liver problems would be due to alcohol, but it's not. I truly don't consume much in quantity on a regular basis.
