Aggravation

Nothing aggravates me more than when you are driving along an interstate at normal speed and all of a sudden traffic comes to a complete stop. No one is moving for as far as the eye can see. You sit there motionless for what seems like forever - probably 3-5 minutes.

Then, traffic begins to move and almost immediately you are back to normal. But there is no accident, no abandoned vehicles, no sign of debris, no police or ambulance....what the hell happened?

If I have to waste my time during my commute waiting...I want to know what I am waiting on.

I suspect some people hate driving so much - combined with some sort of driving phobia - that they slam on the brakes for every little thing. Then, if there happens to be 3 or 4 of those timid drivers driving near each other, and up ahead someone taps their brakes, then traffic comes to a dead stop until the timid drivers catch their breath.

Just a theory.
