Can't "Beet" It

Oh, that was bad, sorry.

I have a confession. For the past month or so I have secretly been snickering at the struggles of Dana and her beets. Her dedication is impressive - she's determined to find a way to like fresh beets. I don't think she has accomplished "like", but is settling for tolerating them in her CSA basket each week.

I have also been secretly thankful that our CSA basket has not included these challenging little purple nuggets.

Well karma bit me in the ass today. Fresh beets are here.

Ironically today also brought me this month's Cuisine At Home which just so happened to feature a salad made with steamed beets, fresh fennel, and napa cabbage topped with a vinaigrette. I'll let you know how that goes.
